August 2021 was the day it arrived. It was just a regular weekday. The office was buzzing with work. The box came in… Aur humne box ko chaaro taraf se gher liya like the kids on Diwali opening gifts. Carefully, we pulled it out.
There it was. THE MARSHALL. The moment we plugged it in and hit play, something shifted. The bass dropped. The beats hit. And suddenly our office was not office anymore. It gave a completely new vibe.
This thought came on an ordinary day back in 2021. So, let’s be honest about Marshall. It doesn’t come cheap. And for a small team balancing creativity and clients, buying something so premium felt like a luxury we couldn’t afford. We had bills to pay, salaries to manage and much more. We were a growing team. Working hard. Buying Marshall speaker felt like an extra expense. But the thought stuck!
‘Chalo EMI pe lete hain’ and we had Marshall with us! We didn’t have ₹30-35k just lying around. The amount is too much when you have other responsibilities on you. Since that day, Marshall hasn’t been just equipment. It is a team member, a mood setter and a motivator.
Some purchases are just purchases. But some purchases turn into memories, emotions, inside jokes and part of your team’s identity. We literally carry it on our every trip. Be it a national trip or an international trip.
It is poetic that we are writing this on April 5th. It’s the death anniversary of Jim Marshall. He is the man who started it all. He did not just build amplifiers. He built amplifiers of dreams. His journey started in a small drum shop in London. He was not trying to become a brand. He was just trying to solve a problem of musicians. He wanted to help musicians get the sound they wanted.
But he ended up creating a sound the world couldn’t forget. And he went on to create a brand that became the backbone of rock ‘n’ roll.
His legacy plays on in concert halls, on studio floors and yes, even in our little office as well.
Isn’t it strange that someone’s dream becomes part of your everyday life? Isn’t it strange that something so material can feel emotional. But maybe it is not about the product. It is about what that thing reminds you of.
For us, Marshall reminds us of that one day in 2021. We couldn’t afford it, but we still went for it. It reminds us of where we were back then.
One day, that “one day” turned into “Why not today?” We could have waited to buy it when we had the budget. But then, we would have missed out on so many moments. And those moments? They were not about music. They were about dancing, vibing and the things that made no sense but brought all the laughs. Marshall is the soundtrack of our journey. It’s a mandatory thing we carry everywhere.
And guess what? It still feels new. Not in the ‘fresh out of the box’ way. But in the ‘still making memories with us’ kind of way. We clean it, we protect it and even scold the one who forgets to pack it for trips. Because it is not our speaker. IT IS OUR MARSHALL.
Marshall reminds us of our bold decision on a random weekday in 2021. A decision where we didn’t wait for the perfect time. We just knew it was the right feeling. And today, 3 years later it still feels new.
Sometimes, you don’t have to buy things just to own them. You buy them to collect memories. This speaker has taught us that you don’t always need to wait for perfect conditions. Sometimes, EMI decisions can give you the best memories and stories.
Today, we don’t even think about EMI. All we think about is the happiness Marshall brings to us. It was just a small decision that came from a shared feeling. And sometimes, those decisions matter the most.
We don’t know when we will upgrade to a bigger one. Maybe we never will. Because this one, right here, is more than enough.
They become symbols, Of how far we have come. Of the things we deserve. Of the joy that lies in doing something for us and the team.
Here’s to the small decisions that make big memories. Here’s to the team that said “chal le lete hain.” Here’s to our Marshall.
